Snowflake Serenade from Country Cottage Needlework is finally finished and put in a frame. It was great fun to stitch the small motifs.
Honestly, I don't care how many WIP's and UFO's I have in my needleworkbasket. It may take a long time, but they will get finished eventually. Normally I am working at two or three cross stitch projects at a time. I have a dayjob that involves starring at a monitor for 8+ hours a day In the evening my eyes are mostly too tired for stitching (particulary for reading the charts). So I usually have one project that is easier to read or to stitch, or I tend to knit or do some patchwork projects because they are not so exhausting for the eyes.
And here is the progress on my other stitching projects and,if you are interested, the last posts for the WIPOCALYSE 2014:

Winterimpressionen
I was on a training in Burgenland and walked to the near Neusiedlersee in the morning before the course started. The way to the lake was too long, but I managed to reach the reed zone.

That's the reason why I couldn't work so much on my needlework projects. With my cats feeling really cosy on my lap every evening there is hardly enough space to do something.
So I just appliquèd a few pumpkins on the Midnight harvest Quilt

I work only on those projects I am in the mood for, which is the reason I have so many UFO's and WIP's in my basket. But I do not bother about it. I do finish projects on a regular basis, but I am not interested in it, once I cannot work anymore on it. The fun of needlework for me is solely on doing it. So it is absolutely possible that I serve breakfeast on a intricately stitched tablecloth, coffee stenches inclusive - I don't care, the tablecloth has become an article of daily use.
I like to stitch things inspiered by the season, so these needlework items are on my hitlist:

Winter?
Todays night is probably all the winter we will have this year. Luckily the next days are only a few degrees beneath the freezing point - which is good because of the warm temperatures some bushes are already blooming. (witch hazel, fragrant viburnum) Just to be on the save side, the broccoli will make todays diner...

Midnight Harvest Teil 1
I spent the last days at the cutting board and the sewing machine to piece the center piece of this quilt. In the next step I will applique pumpkins on the large outer borders.

I knitted a buffalo! :-) Buffalo Lux is the name of this wonderful but decadent expensive yarn. It consists of 45% american bison down, the rest is Silk and Cashmere.
I bought 2 skeins of that yarn 2 years back, but I didn't know what to knit with it. There wasn't enhough yarn for a common triangle shawl and I just couldn't find a pattern for a scarf that I liked. Then Romi published the pattern Sierra Lupine - and now the scarf is finished! Although I only had 660 yards the scarf turned out just beautiful!

The setting up of the greenhouse tunnel for the winter saldas was for the brids! (In german we say "for the cat", in this case literally). The pearls of dew which run down on the foil are just too interesting!

Leichtgewicht

Last week I presented you a unusual large tomato, this week it is a unusual small cucumber. Mexican minicucumber is the variety. The fruit looks like a tiny water melon (less than a half inch) and tastes tartish but very intense like cucumber. Approximately like a piece of cucumer with a drop of lime. The cucumber tastes very good raw as a snack. It can also be pickeled or poached.
Like all cucumber varieties the plant doesn't grow much the first few months but then it grows exuberantly within three weeks. It can be plant on open land, in a pot and in a hanging basket.
